Your castle stands on the left; monster waves walk in from the right. Heroes fight from windows in the castle, Turrets and Cannons stand in front of it, and a Captain walks the battlefield. Everything attacks on its own, and Auto Battle also casts skills for you.
Waves pay out gold, EXP and talent points. You spend them on Castle Upgrade, hero levels and star-ups, the Training Grounds and the talent tree. Placement barely matters: the developers built it so you swap lineups, not tiles.
When the main waves get too hard, you go sideways: Rift Raid bosses for gear, the Blacksmith to improve it, the Demon Lord Tower, the Mine for Diamonds and the Black Market for blind boxes.

Legend of Defenders FAQ
What is Legend of Defenders?
An idle tower defense game for Windows by KaiPlay Studio, published by Gamersky Games and released on Steam on Nov 2, 2026. You defend a castle from endless monster waves with Heroes, Turrets, Cannons and Captains; battles run automatically and resources keep coming in while you are away.
Is Legend of Defenders free to play? Does it have microtransactions?
No and no. It is a paid game ($14.00 list price) and the developers describe it as single-player with zero in-app purchases. Optional extras are a free Halloween Castle Skin DLC and a Supporter Pack (Holy Light castle skin, Witch Hand recruitment skin, 200 Diamonds and the Mag Ranger hero).
Does my Demo progress carry over to the full game?
Yes, according to the developers: Demo saves carry over directly when you launch the full release, gear included. Saves from the earlier Playtest did not carry into the Demo.
Can I play it in the background or at work?
Auto Battle lets heroes, turrets and cannons attack and cast skills on their own, and the Boss Key hides the window instantly, taskbar icon included. Resources also accumulate while the game is closed.
Does it run on Steam Deck, Mac or Linux?
Steam lists Windows only. The Day 1 Hotfix fixed a bug that stopped saving on Steam Deck, so the developers are fixing Deck issues, but there is no official Mac or Linux build.
Is this the same game as Legend of Defenders on the App Store?
No. The iOS app called Legend of Defenders is a different game from a different developer (Mintry Inc., released 2024). This site covers the Steam PC game by KaiPlay Studio.
How many achievements are there?
153. Our tracker lists all of them with Steam's global unlock rates.
